Last Energy To Host Public Consultation Event Series For Llynfi Clean Energy Project

Public Invited To Series Of Public Presentations Throughout Bridgend

Bridgend, South WalesLast Energy, a full-service developer of 20 MWe micro modular nuclear power plants, announced today a series of public consultation events for its project, Prosiect Egni Glan Llynfi (“Llynfi Clean Energy Project”). 

The public consultation events, beginning on 14 July, 2025 and continuing through 11 August, 2025, are designed to solicit feedback from the surrounding community and contribute to the planning activities in accordance with the Wales Development of National Significance Procedure Order. 

Each public consultation event will begin with a 20-minute presentation from the Last Energy development team, followed by an hour and a half of questions from the audience. Public consultation events will end with an hour of small group conversations for participants who wish to engage in a with the development team in a smaller audience. 

All events are open to the public, with no requirement for prior registration or confirmation of attendance. It will be at the discretion of the venue to turn people away if capacity is reached.

Public consultation events will begin promptly at 6:30 PM and conclude at 9:30 PM.

  • 30 July – Maesteg – Maesteg Celtic Athletic Social Club
  • 5 August – Maesteg – Maesteg Rugby Football Club
  • 6 August – Bridgend – Ravens Rugby Football Club
  • 11 August – Coytrahen – Coytrahen Community Hub
  • 12 August – Maestag – Maesteg Celtic Athletic Social Club

Event details will be kept up-to-date at https://www.cleanenergyllynfi.wales/events. The company has also distributed leaflets with event information to local residents. expected to arrive by mail before the first consultation event. Additional leaflets will be distributed at event venues.

In October, Last Energy announced a proposal to deploy four 20 MWe micro-nuclear power plants at the site of the former coal fired power station at Llynfi, Llangynwyd, Bridgend. The project aims to provide electricity to local industry.
